Supports Handwriting Remedies

Hand in Hand recently received a grant from the AT & T foundation, longtime supporter of literacy and resources for academic success, to expand Hand in Handfs dynamic Handwriting curriculum, Handwriting Remedies, which enhances skills through fun, interactive groups of two to four children. The groups address the sensory processing and visual motor skills, as well as the body dynamics necessary for handwriting. The group setting allows children the opportunity to gain and give peer support while working on individualized goals. The groups are led by a licensed Occupational Therapist and run for six to eight week intervals. Funding from AT & T will allow us to purchase additional materials and resources in order to serve the growing number of children who struggle with homework and school activities due to difficulty learning to write.
