Mission & Philosophy
It is the mission of Hand in Hand Family & Child Development Center to provide each family and child with integrated therapeutic services in a warm, caring and home-like environment. These services are provided under one roof for the convenience of families and the facilitation of teamwork. Our goal is to address the needs of the whole child within the context of his or her family.
The staff at Hand in Hand Family & Child Development Center strives to provide a warm, welcoming and mutually respectful environment for children and families to thrive in. Each therapist at Hand in Hand has dedicated their professional lives to helping children reach their potential through activities that foster communication, interaction, exploration, attention, body awareness, and the ability to navigate and interact with the environment.
It is our philosophy that parents are an intricate part of the therapy team and that the more tools, information and understanding parents have, the better able they will be to facilitate their child's growth and development. As therapists, our job is to support, model and empower parents to understand their child's strengths, learning style and educational needs. As a result, families become more comfortable and confident using intervention techniques at home and in the community.
All staff members of Hand in Hand recognize, respect and embrace the role of the parent and home environment in providing the foundation for each child. We respect each child as an individual within the context of a family, a culture and a community.
